Music Unites Rocks the Campus is an event that brings together colleges and universities from the NYC tri-state area. Colleges in New York City all vary in terms of fields of study, as well as the cost for tuition. CUNY, private schools and IVY leagues all have at least one thing in common: the fact that we all have a music scene that is waiting to be unleashed in an equal limelight. The purpose of the Music Unites Rocks the Campus event is to bring students from different colleges to not just promote music but to appreciate music from different schools, to provide a chance to interact and meet new musicians from different schools and to promote the mission of Music Unites while saving music education in inner-city schools. The schools to participate in this event as of February 23, 2012 include: Hunter College, City College, Queens College, New York University and Columbia University. Each school will provide one band with a set list of 30-40 minutes each. The show would last about three hours. The event would give emerging bands and artists a chance to promote their music, meet new people but mostly perform for a good cause, which would benefit Music Unites. The money, at $5 per person at the door, would go towards the Five Borough Music Unites Youth Choir Campaign.
